Money plays a pivotal role in both individual and group needs and wants and can be a source of many conflicts. The dual nature of money makes it both creative and destructive, loving and cruel, with the capacity to bring out the best and the worst in human beings.
In the world today, our collective money issues are the root cause of some of the major problems faced globally. These include insatiable greed, corruption, overconsumption, mass poverty, resource and income inequalities, forced migration, environmental abuse and outrageous military spending. Many relationships encounter conflicts and challenges around money, whether families, nations, or communities.
It takes more than just financial knowledge and practical solutions to get us out of challenging financial circumstances, especially with money being a core survival issue that creates stress and fear.
The good news is that we have the capacity within us to have money and to have a healthy relationship with it.
